Haiku Tag

Here i go, my first tag post... Sorry Sammu darl for writing it so late. I finally understood the concept of tagging. So i start it with the Haiku tag passed on to me by Sameera.
Well, i aint that poetic but will still try my best to write a Haiku... Its a 3 line poem with the lines having 5,7 and 5 syllables and should contain a seasonal word. Pretty tough...lol.

Its a Summer day
Sky so bright and Silver Grey
Birds Swinging to play

I hereby tag Sameera to write about "Special children"

TOO FAST - TOO BANGALORE

It was just another saturday night when my watch struck 12.Me and my friend Arjun were waiting outside a lounge pub waiting to go home after a heavy dose of hip-hop music and dance. We had an amazing evening meeting up with old buddies who had come from Chennai. After exchanging our habitats in the career world and talks about the hustle bustle of the software industry, we both fled to hit the pub where we normally hang out on saturdays. Reasons being quite simple. One, coz the DJs there spin some awesome hiphop and rap tracks to complete the week's long adrenaline urge of partying. Two being the fact that we have nothing else to do on a saturday night at home. And being a new Bangalore baby is absolutely fun with surprises coming along frequently. Arjun isn't a new Bangalorean , but a new party freak in Bangalore.

After socializing with a bunch of guys inside talking about life here and their where abouts, dancing to some of the known tracks and breathing in heavily into the smoke-packed lounge, it was time for the pub to close down. As usual, the rumours of cops patrolling around and the earlier you evacuate the better. We waited outside the place all set to leave home and drown into a long weekend slumber. Surprisingly, we caught up with a few party animals who knew everything about a saturday nite where-abouts right from where to find the best food after midnight and where to catch up with parites happening beyond midnight. Lucky were we!!! We got along with them to accompany them for an after-party meal. They lead us to this street, woah, the final destination as it seemed for me.

I was in a very wrong misconstrue that Bangalore sleeps at 11pm, Damn! I was wrong... I was surprised to see this entire stretch of about 500 metres hooked up with activities trying to awaken the pitch silence of the residential neighbourhood. With all the luxury cars parked alongside and superbike owners doing their thang in the middle of the roads totally aware of being watched by cops, and from food junkies hogging everywhere with the best of non vegetarian cuisines to the ladies enjoying their favourite doses of milkshakes, ice-creams and all the delicious desserts, it was all in action up there. Man, it was a FAST AND THE FURIOUS movie come alive for me. I couldn't resist grabbing on my favourite snack "Shawarma" enjoying it with a packetful of road-side automobile entertainment. Thanx to those good guys who took us to this place, which is now gona be our saturday nite spot after midnight. The places and the joints are not mentioned on the blog for security reasons. And, I am being selfish by not doing so, lol. There are loads of animosities that you would get to hear from people about not trusting strangers in this crime-tagged city. But hey, all ain't bad. I trusted strangers and i had a feast for my senses ranging from sights and sounds to the taste buds. So all you homiez who wana have an adventurous life ahead or atleast for a while, start living it up to trust those good people whom you meet coz you never know that they might lead you to just the right goal ur trying to hit.

I dedicate this post to those homiez for making my last saturday nite the best weekend ever in B'lore and also to my homie Arjun who is my partner in crime on a weekend night..lol. Until i come across something new next weekend, this is KabirEM signing off to get back to work. Peace Out!

P.S: The pic of the place is uploaded with the security constraints still in place..lol!

Pay It Forward Challenge

Yo! Welcome back homiez... I am bumping into my own blog regularly these days to write my mind out... Thanx to Sameera (a.k.a Sam a.k.a Desiduck) who keeps pushing me to write more n who makes the wheels of my blog rolling on. This time, its about a new concept introduced by someone which i came across on Sam's blog. Its called PAY IT FORWARD. Sounds weird, but its kinda unique and fun. I played it and i won...lol. This is how it goes (taken up from Sam's blog)...

"I promise to send a small handmade gift to the first three people who reply to this post on my blog, specifying that they accept the PIF challenge. I do not know what the gift will be as of now, but it will be something personalized and I promise to have it delivered to them within one year from today, no matter what. Of course, as the name indicates, the condition is that all three of them must in turn pay it forward the same way, by putting up a post linking to this one on their blog and promising to send three others a handmade gift."

Well, i am waiting for my gift all the way from UAE to India. Isn't that great? That's what the challenge says, u gotta pay it forward no matter where u reside in the world. In this fast paced world of globalization, people have become so professional that communication lacks in emotional bonds and humanitarian values. Formal emails are the buzz of the day. People have forgotten to write "Yours lovingly" anymore, its only "Thanks and Regards" filling up the final lines of messages. So, all my homiez, write back on this blog and lets all join hands to make this world a global village of love, friendship and brotherhood. I'm all set to Pay It Forward... Peace Out!

Farah Khan Vs SLB

Heyo homiez, Belated Diwali WIshes to all the bloggers n my respects to those who spend some time to read unappealing posts of mine :-) Well, i don't blog without reasons, n this time around, its the buzz of the two big diwali releases in Bollywood that forced me to write this post. It seemed to be a clash of the titans on the eve of diwali when the nation awaited to hit the big screens to watch their favourite stars in OM SHANTI OM and to debug their eager senses wanting to check out the new comers in SAAWARIYA. Instead of reviewing the movies here in the same old cliched way which Kabir's Review Team(KRT) normally does, we decided to make a comparative study of the movies to enhance your judgement of which hits the pots of fortune and which doesn't. For the first time, KRT has made such a comparison between any two movies released simultaneously. Not only are we reviewing it this way, but Kabir saw the movies back to back in two consecutive days to rate the movies to the highest precision. But it ended up as a leopard n turtle race, one racing its way out into the lands and the other had no traces of even being in the race. Lol. The results n findings are presented below (Don't Be Surprised):

OM SHANTI OM
1. Characterization: Well defined, marvellously crafted n designed, very appealing, very new though being derived from the 70s.
2. Star Cast: Its SRK all the way (NQA-No Questions Asked), Deepika Padukone - Best Debutant 2007, Shreyas Talpande - proved his acting skills yet again, Arjun Rampal - carried out the role to the best for the first time in his career, The remaining guest appearances - surprises all through the movie and unbeatable excitement.
3. Direction: Farah Khan is now idolized as the Best Masala Movie Maker ever existed in Bollywood, her techniques and creativity are so fresh n full of surprises.
4. Music: Vishal n Shekhar are gona rule the industry next, they did it in Bluffmaster and so did they prove it again here.
5. Costumes: Karan Johar n Manish Malhotra(can you beat that), ultimate pleasure for the eyes to watch those colours of the 70s, well designed guys.
6. Screenplay: Each moment n each frame of the movie was filled with excitement and had given the audience no time to even check out their mobile phone inboxes.
7. Sets: Beautifully sculptured and carved out feel of the 70s, well done Art Directors. Man, the appreciations would keep running out of pages for this movie.
8. Best Scene: Cant specify one, there are loadz. The bullet-catching scene of Akshay Kumar, Shahrukh imitating Rajni Kanth, etc.
9. Special Attractions: U know them all; SRK's 6 pack, 31 stars in a single song, graphics all through the movie was overwhelming.
10. KRT's rating: 4.5/5 for an overall family entertainer.

SAAWARIYA:
1. Characterization: Was Sanjay Leela Bhansali(SLB) suffering from illness when he wrote his characters? Damn, Bollywood aint a fantasy world!!!
2. Star Cast: Quite a good star cast as debutants, both Ranbir n Sonam have done their parts good enough for justifying their acting skills. Sonam, plz learn to smile better (Lol).
3. Direction: That's the only good thing about the movie. After all it comes from the eyes of one of the biggest directors in the industry. SLB has encapsulated each of his frames with marvellous colours n lighting effects.
4. Music: Tried to be different, but couldn't make a mark. Umrao Jaan would be a preferable choice to listen to rather.
5. Costumes: There were hardly any for the hero, the same old cap n coat. Sonam n Rani had a better deal of costumes quite aesthetically crafted.
6. Screenplay: Ruined the whole movie, that says it all.
7. Sets: Too artificial to digest, doesnt appeal even a point-bit.
8. Best Scene: Probably THE END scene.
9. Special Attractions: Were there any or were we all sleeping to notice?
10.KRT's rating: 0.5/5 (just for the lights n colours). Damn, it isn't even worth watching on a pirated cd.

So homiez, u know where to head to this weekend if u havent seen it... Toh bolo.. Ommmmmmm... shantiiiiiiiiii... ommmmmmmmmmmmmm...!

AMNESIA - Refresh Memories !!!

Amnesia is one the first party places i visited in Bangalore. I entered the Chancery Pavilion (the hotel which houses this ubiquitous pub) with no expectations, thinking it might be just another 4 star hotel n a pub of the same lines. But when i climbed down the stairs to reach the poolside in the basement, i was gettin a lil excited to see people flocking around the pool sipping on their drinks n enjoyin the music. Yeah, People this is how Amnesia introduced itself to me - a cool pub neatly placed besides the pool and well synchronized with the architecture of the hotel to meet all the exhaustive requirements of hard-core clubbers in town. It was a wonderful sunday evening with light showers pouring down to give an added charm to the pool with the already blinged-up crowd. The actual pub was packed to the house with some DJ from Dubai( i dont remember names of DJs that well, lol) playing a lot of House n Hip-Hop to hustle up the so called Bangolorian niggaz. Some crazy dance acts on the floor n some enjoying their own romantic moments on the couch corners. Amnesia has all that you need to party, to romance, to chill out, to socialize, to make new friends and ofcourse complemented with great music and ambience. I'm waiting for another big party to happen, hope to catch some of you there. Until i find something interesting to write about, im out of here... Peace Out!

Living Alone

Hi folks, have u ever wondered how it feels to stay alone in a new place all by urself. Well, i am going thru this phase n thought abt sharing it on my blog, coz therez one particular blogger who keeps complaining that i hardly write. I have lived all the 21 years of my life at home, being fed by mom's food, being pampered and enjoying all the possible comforts of home and freaking out with childhood friends. It was time i packed up my bags and prepared myself to face a new world. A world where career takes a serious turn in ur life and u need to give up on friends, family to a greater extent... But why? Jus coz u have to earn ur buck? work hard n keep ur superiors happy? Or rather keep ur parents happy by letting them relax for the rest of their lives? I'm not those kinds to give up on how i had been living all these years. I have greatly struck in a balance between my old days and these new ones. There wasn't a day in my life when i had to bother about my clothes being ready next morning for school or college. N now, i gotta keep everything right before it gets messy. Its quite a fast paced life n living alone can flip ur minds to get into consistent n everlasting gloom. But homiez, remember work n living alone is not all that life has to offer. Live for ur dreams, Live the way u want ur life to be shaped (n yeah mould it right), Live with desires of scaling heights and Live to be recognized as a "good" human being in the society... So go ahead n live ur lives, no matter alone or surrounded by all your loved ones. Until i write again, Chow!!!

Eid is here Again...... :-)

I remember writing an article on the same day exactly a year ago on the very same occasion of Eid... Wowwww, its Eid-Ul-Fitr today!!! Doesn't the very essence of Eid spill a fragrance of joy n happiness into our hearts..true. I slept with quite a gloomy mind last nite worrying about things happening in life, about how certain future's gona be and loadz of human-life crap running around my head. But it was a fresh n lovely Sunday when my alarm went on at 7:30am. Yuppie! It's Eid, the most joyous day of the year has arrived, It's time to dress up in the best of your ethnic wardrobe n the eagerness to rush to prayers and meet all those people who care and share your brotherhood. As usual, excitedly, i quickly sprung up in action early n got into my ethnic wear to rush for Eid prayers. Hugged all my buddies, exchanging gud wishes..Woah, wot a feeling! If u need anything in this world to eradicate all your worries, hug people, truly makes a difference(Somebody said it rightly on her blog)... As soon as prayers end and once you are done with meeting relatives n friends n exchanging hugs, you so wana rush back home to taste that one dish which you've waited for a whole year(that's a fact, u taste it once a year n u crave for it each year, which otherwise wudn't excite ur taste buds if u kept eating it all year long)...Yeah i'm talking about Mom's Sevaiyan or the 'Sheer Khurma' garnished with almonds n cashews at times. I feel my fasts come to an end only after i eat a bowl-full of it. Is this all that u had been waiting for , is this all that Eid can offer u, does this happiness last only for the morning? Wait, thats just a teaser for Eid, the rest of the day is filled with more surprises n more happy things around. Lunch Feast awaits for the entire family to sit down n eat together on this day, which normally doesn't happen on other days when the men in the family are busy earning their bread-and-butter. I had am amazing feast today, n hope that it gets better every year with more people joining in for the feast. Here i am sitting in my room with a stomach full of biryani waiting for the arrival of somebody special or the occurence of something special. This is the only part of the "Eid-day" that you get to relax n people like me find eternal peace to blog...lol. I wrote this even last year n writing it again, No matter wot, u definitely sense something missing in u or in ur life which still doesn't supplement Eid's joys to fill the bowl of eternal joy. Until last year i didn't know wot was that one thing which was missing in life. But Today, i found wot i was missing all these years, YES, i found that one pearl which was missing in my garland to make it shine from all sides. I found that one page which was missing in my book of life, which completes the sync of my story. And i discovered that one tree in my forest which could bring rain to the entire region whose absence had left my forest dry for all these years. But guess wot? I'm still missing that thing 'today' even after having found it. Finding is another thing and owning that thing with you at this moment is another thing. I hope i'll have it with me for next Eid. I miss it today, but atleast happy about its existence in this world and that i know i can acquire it. Woah, i got totally lost with my feelings at this time..Lemme come back. It's gona be Eidy time all evening when you go visit relatives. But some of the best Eidys come as surprises like i had one last year, a wallet given to me by a person who i least expected would give me Eidy. N then on traditions follow, i hope to get some gud Eidys today, but not the best ones for sure...lol. Anyways budz, thats all i had to share about this Eid. I gotta pack my bags n leave back to Bangalore n back to work tomorrow morning. True, Happiness in life doesn't last long. It will all come to an end at 10pm tonight when i start my journey leaving back all the memories back here at home. Its back to the world of fast-paced buzzing activities tomorrow to pursue all your material dreams. Thats it for now folks, thanx for reading, will keep blogging whenever i feel its important to pin down something that i wana share with u all... Peace out!

Life In A METRO - review !!!

Life in a metro is fun, thrilling, dangerous, unfaithful, fast-paced, confusing, boring, monotonous, sad... and the list goes on to cover up almost every emotion that a human mind and face can express. I know what it takes to live and work in an indian metro coz i am going through it. Every person in this city has created his own space to live in, not only in terms of the land-space but emotional and personal spaces as well. And thats exactly what Anurag Basu has exploited upon in his latest release "Life In A METRO". He has explored into the lives of a few people who are lost in this ruthless metro life and has delivered his findings in an aesthetically wonderful way. The very essence of a metro city like mumbai like travelling in local trains, waiting in bus-stops, and working in call centers and the media industry has been excellently carved out on the reels. The star cast of the movie couldn't have gotten any better. Each and every character well deserves an appreciation of its own. Shilpa Shetty, Konkana Sen, Sharman Joshi, Irfan Khan, Shiny Ahuja and Kangana Ranaut have all acted their ways out to glory. Watching Dharmendra on big screen after a long time is a gift to our eyes. Nafisa Ali truly deserves to start her old-age movie roles from this one. In brief, the star cast has exceeded what the public had expected. The new concept of an indian rock band playing live on the screen for every song has ignited a new revolution to the bollywood music scene. The music and songs are well placed for the screenplay and the situations. "Alvida" and "In Dono" would definitely make u feel lighter and groove with it... Every man and woman living in a metro today can relate himself or herself with some part of the movie and thats why this movie captures the minds of each individual seated in those multiplex seats. All you metro-life-freaks, this one is just the right movie for you to hit it when u break out from work on weekends. I consider this one as one of the best commercial bollywood movies of recent times. Before you get carried over by the metro times and back to the rapidly changing life, go grab the tickets and popcorns to enjoy this beautiful depiction of Life In A METRO.
Kabir's Review Team rates "LIFE IN A METRO": 4.5/5 (records broken)

PROVOKED to watch it!

PROVOKED - Honestly, one of the best directed movies in recent times. Do you think movies based on social or women issues directed by bollywood directors are boring, Well, think again! Coz, Provoked can prove all that to be absolutely wrong. From the very beginning, which starts off with the quintessential incident of the movie - the murder, the movie keeps you hooked onto the screens till it ends. The entire screenplay is depicted in such a way that its sensibly natural to believe that its a true story. A story of a punjabi lady Kiranjit Ahluwalia, who was married to an NRI in Britain. Believe it or not, this life-story has actually modified one of the laws in the British Law Books. Aishwarya Rai has undoubtedly given her best to prove her core acting talents with Nandita Das too in the limelite as a supporting actress.

The crucial incidents or rather scenes like the murder, the lady pushed down the stairs, sexually abused by her husband, etc, are wonderfully shot to embed them in the audience's minds for long. A.R.Rehman has given fine background score at sharp points where it is needed. Provoked can be compared to a lot of married couples' lives today and can be quite influential to the women of today! The story is actually a transformation of the lady from an innocent person to a bold lady who can face the world without getting embarassed of her past actions. It makes me wana read the novel written by Kiranjit herself on which the movie is based. An apt ending with a crisp message makes everybody appreciate the work of Mr. Jag Mundhra, the man behind making PROVOKED. A must watch movie for women (and men as well). Ash is sure to grab a National Award for her performance.
Kabir's Review Team rates PROVOKED: 3.5/5

See you soon with a new movie review... Peace Out!

Primeval not instinctive as expected!

Primeval belongs to those kinds of movies which can trick the masses with its huge impressive marketing and publicity gimmicks. This was one of those movies which made me book the tickets right away the day the counters had opened the reservations. But, in the end, it all had to go in vain. The movie actually SUCKS. The screenplay is so bad that you would rather end up talking your life's primeval stories to the person beside you at the cinema hall... lol. From the very beginning, the movie has an eery silence which doesnt scare you even a point percent. The script has given importance to civil wars and other social problems in Africa, rather than focusing the movie on the monster reptile. Oh yeah people, its supposed to be a monster. We wait for 30 minutes to actually see the monster eagerly, expecting it to be one of those amazing works like godzilla. But when it pops up on the silver screen, it makes you go wild and regret for the money that you paid for the elite class at Inox. And yeah, never make a mistake of watching the movie right after a good dinner on a saturday night, which is exactly what i did and landed up feeling to puke...lol! The movie is filled with slimy and disturbing scenes of killings. To sum it all up, the ending makes things worse. The only thing that's to be appreciated in the movie is that it has good humour for about 20% of the movie, which can really tickle your laughing nerves.
Kabir's review team rates the movie - Primeval 2/5.
Until next time, Chow!

"CREATIVE-BUSINESS" IS THE WORD

Hello People, itz been really long since i posted my last blog. Was a lil hooked up with other more important things in life. [P.S. i am neither an anti-blogger nor a blogging critic... lol]. Enough of re-introductions now, lets get down to business, lets get down to blogging!
It all dates back to the era when the stone-age man ruled these lands. BUSINESS is something that dates back to those days. "YOU give me meat that you hunted for food and I give you the leaves I collected for shelter". Thatz just an informal business deal between two men wearing leafy-briefs for clothing! It has been in man's blood from the time he was gifted to mother earth. Business has since then come a long way with man's creativity. To conceive is human, and to conceive and deploy is a BUSINESS-MAN. Innovations, creativity, Dreams, Desires and Motivations all end up landing into a common domain named BUSINESS. Lemme, just cut this history crap of what i'm trying to talk about.
Businesses these days have come to a point where even the slightest of an idea by an insomniac turns into millions of bucks! I was stunned reading an article today in the business section at CNN.com named "A PIZZA PIE for $1000". This particular pizza had nothing special in it. Its just a normal American Pizza topped with Caviars and Lobsters but with a tag of $1000. And Guess what? It sold out! Name it a PUBLICITY GIMMICK or a mere BUSINESS STRATEGY to earn some real plentiful quick buck. This looks like a scene in one of those national geographic animal documentaries... THE HUNTER - owner of the pizza restaurant; THE PREY - the cutomers who poured in dollars to taste a slice of something not worth more than a couple of dollars![P.S. Each of the eight slices was sold to different customers for $125 each] The bottom line here is YOU HAVE AN IDEA TO IMPRESS PEOPLE? GO AHEAD N EXPERIMENT, U WILL NEVER KNOW WHEN IT ROCKS.
Creative Business...hmmmm! I appreciate this lady who owns that Pizza Restaurant. It was such a simple idea. Not only did she earn those thousand bucks for a 5$ product, but she has earned herself n her restaurant a recognition which will pull in more and more crowd as an immediate effect. So all you business minded "GURU BHAIs" in town, galvanize your creative business ideas and make them shine to the calibre of reflection you desire! Put on your thinking caps n roll out your business ideas... Peace Out! Happy Thinking, Happy Earning!
