Has ur mind ever pondered to think how they make those scary or fun-filled animated movies, with characters full of life? Or have u taken some time to think about those designers working at Pixar Animation Studios trying to conceive an animated creature for their movies? If not, im sure this blog will definitely make u think abt em. And if u already know wots in there, read it anyways for some fresh works by a person whoz my good buddy!
Yeah, it all originates from the strokes of a brush in an artist's hand or from the mouse strokes of a graphic designer... For all the challenges faced from converting a paperwork to a computer generated image to making it come to life, the graphic designing softwares come handy! Open up a blank page and start moving the optics of ur mouse, select those colors from a palette of over a billion colors, give the image ur finishing lines n shades and there u have it... A seemingly living image of the creature thatz been hitting ur mind ever since u started working on it. I've been a painter myself a couple of years ago until studies took me over it, and i have a fair knowldege of how an artist's mind works when he/she is working on the work. Its not about correcting those small mistakes in the picture nor about getting worried if some color spills over the desired region, all that a painter needs is a vintage looking image that has its own class of style and a sense of uniqueness that reflects his mind. And the graphic designers working on the computer with their softwares are no different in this front. The following picture proves it all... Take a good look at it first...
That scary scarred-face monster named "THE WARCRAFT ORC" is one such masterpiece created by Divya, a final year Visual Communications student. I have known her since the school days and this is not something that we cannot expect from her. All her works of art have deserved appreciations and THE WARCRAFT ORC is the best that i've seen among all of em. I bet, i would not have had the patience to sit in front of a glaring monitor to design an image, after all... Kudos to her! I named it THE MONSTER OF THE RINGS... lol... Itz the monster's nose ring that first caught my attention. Haha! And those deep-red eyes would definitely give u a feel of wot hell is like. Every pixel of work thats gone in is truly to be admired... And believe it, its all done with just Adobe Photoshop. All that I know to do with this piece of software is to edit pictures n give it some crazy effects...lol! No more descriptions, see it urself n spend some time thinking about it! And the best part of it all is that it creates an illusion of a real monster trying to tear ur screen apart n pop out... Lol, that'd be the worst nightmare! Enuf of this ORC.. I bet, u wud have had some idea about wot a graphic designer works on... As i said, it all begins with a drawing. Thanx Divya for letting me put this one on my blog, though its supposed to be copyrighted. And all the graphic designing fanatics, check out her site where shez posted her other works... Brad Pitt's is another of her must-see creation... The link is saggihead... Atleast, i did not procrastinate on writing this blog, which i normally do. Keep those brush strokes moving on painters, and the mouse scrolls rolling on designers... Peace Out!

DOOM - the movie
It was a boring friday and a public holiday, i was literally doomed with boredom and was pondering over what to do. Logged on to a cineplex's website and decided to bump into a movie and the only availability was DOOM for the evening show. I am not much of an action-movie freak nor a gaming fanatic, but just thought to give it a try coz i've played the game once. Moreover, the movie was released the same day, so it was a first-day-first-show kinda thing and i never miss such opportunities. Its a vintage feeling to watch movies on the first day of release!!
The movie started with some chill scary scenes, which rocked the seats of the cinema hall coz it had RDX digital stuff, n i guessed it right... Yeah, itz gona be one heck of a movie to watch it alone, Lol. Its about a special team named "Rapid Response Tactical Squad" or the "double R TS" as the actor in the movie ROCK calls it. Their mission and only goal is to protect planet Earth from any kind of extra-terrestrial or harmful things. This time around, they are directed to a genetic testing lab where some strange spooky things have been happening. And so the movie begins with the soldiers of RRTS all geared up with their rock-solid outfits and headed straight to the genetics lab where they meet the data security officer Samantha.Man she was so damn sexy and one of the soldiers of RRTS literally started falling for her, these r the few things which really cracked up the humorous sense of the movie. This lady helps the team out in everything that they do and is ubiquitous throughout the movie.
The movie is fantastically carved out from the computer game with a good sense of direction and screenplay. The monsters and scary creatures which the team had to face were all engineered with great care, thanx to the animation and extra effects experts. There are loadz of scenes to scare ur asses off the seats with the cliched scenes of "sudden scream after a silence" types. And the director also pepped up the game lovers with the climax scene shot in the game's view, i.e from a solider's eye view where u could only see the gun moving. That was a good teaser by the makers, complemented with rock music background score.
Besides all this, u really learn what a soldier's life is really like... Infact one of the soldier was killed by the Sergent in the movie just coz he didnt obey him. Be Loyal Or Be Dead, thats the punch line. Thank goodness, we aint soldiers of such an extraordinary team.
For people who havent played the game, go watch the movie and u'll know wot the game is all about... And for all those who have played the game, u'll love watching the movie with real-life soldiers and out-of-the-box monsters. Peace out... DOOM...!!

CEO Wannabes...!
A man who knows the dents n bumps of his firm. A czar who can handle any kinda at-the-time emergency decision. A nomad who knows the outlay of the roads where his firm is heading to. A homosapien whose attitude n personality traits can fetch an overwhelming appreciation.Everybody whose crossed the life of a college playkid and whose into the workforce wants to be him. He has beaten the priority of many Gods worshipped. Yeah, im talkin about a CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER. Thats the word doing rounds in all the management institutes worldwide. But what is that hez got that nobody else in a firm's got? Y does everyone dream of being him someday? Y does everybody follow his vaguely left-behind intelligent milestones to reach him? Y has he become the destiny of many who dont even know what it needs to be a CEO? These questions cannot be answered straight-to-the-point.
I was reading a column on the "top young executives of india" in Business Today a couple of weeks back and was impressed with the way each of them had built their own statues of fortune and fame. The experience and intelligence that they had acquired at such young ages of 35, some of them even at 27. One particular CEO named Prashant Pandey of RADIO MIRCHI had so much in his credits at an age of 40. Having been worked @ Citibank, Pepsi, HLL and now Radio Mirchi, is he actually looking for anything more in his gifted life? Man, dont these big-men have the words of 'fatigue','exhaustiveness','tiredness','boredom' etc in their books of work. Being a CEO of Pepsi and then Radio Mirchi, which are two different worlds of vocation, just imagine how differently this man should have planned his strategies to get his brand reach the audiences. Its not simply out of formality that they are named BRAND BUILDERS.
Be it knowing the current stock updates on Dalal Street or Wall Street, they know em all. Its NIFTY and NASDAQ and SENSEX thats buzzing their heads all the time. No wonder that the SENSEX is rising at such adrenalin rush, thanx to these CEOs of intelligentsia. Yeah, smart marketing and tricky strategies is all they can master at. But personally, they lose their charms of humour and fun, though with exceptions. Their eyes dont speak out, its only their mouths and brains that spell out the magic. I dont wana make it a critical writing, lol. Everybody in the world have their own pullouts. Be it a dinner at a luxury hotel almost everyday, meeting up with foreign buyers and investors and social creams, or having luxury comforts of an Arab Baadshah, they have em all. But there are somethings missing in everybody's life and thats the irony of life on earth. Nobody can help on it!
Anyways, im a lil exhausted now, and got lots of work to do (atleast not as much as a CEOs work..lol)... Hats off to all the CEOs who never get tired of working. So, being a CEO is not just getting an MBA from the IIMs or the GLIMs of the world, there is something much more than that u need. So all u wannabe CEOs, start hunting for those mummified traits and someday u might be one too. And for all the CEOs in the world, U truly rule and rock the forces of work. PEACE OUT!

V for Vendetta Against Technology!!
THE HINDU, 22nd march, 2006
"During the academic summit launched to kick off the initiative, about 30 teams from various colleges presented papers on insurance-related technology.
The judges shortlisted eight entries and graded them on content and presentation skills.
The winners, Mohamed Ibrahim and Mohamed Kabiruddin, third year computer science students from Crescent Engineering College, had come up with an innovative solution for speeding up the verification process in accident detection.
"We wanted to bring in new technology that will revolutionise the insurance sector," said Kabiruddin.
"The longest process is the verification. It takes days to get back the money," Ibrahim added.
The students proposed the use of GSM technology used in mobile phones to facilitate on-the-spot verification."
THE NEW INDIAN EXPRESS , 22nd march, 2006
"The Academic Summit, hosted by TCS Insurance Solution Centre (ISC) on Tuesday, saw participation from more than 50 students who presented their project ideas of which 30 entries drew appreciation under “Innovation in Insurance”, a white paper contest organised by the centre.
And a project idea detailing “Remote Accident Detection and Response” using GPRS technology presented by Mohemmed Ibrahim and Mohamed Kabiruddin from Crescent Engineering College, was adjudged the best of all the white paper entries."

FAREFEST '06
I can proudly say that i was a part of the team who was involved in makin FAREFEST 2006 a fantastic show! Guyz, we bet it right, nobody would have thrown a party so big for their seniors at college. Doint it right from the ground work of planning and preparations, the blog, the searching for places...never expected that we would have so very few hurdles in a race which seemed a lot challenging! Anyways, they say when the going gets tough the tough gets going... And it was all perfect and a happy-go-lucky feeling this side, all the time!

THE IIM-B TOUR
I returned back today from a memorable tour to bangalore with my buddies. While im getting bored pondering over about what to do online, it struck me to write about the weekend tour. We, 11 guys, landed in bangalore on saturday at around 6 am trespassing the mist and biting cold at the station. With our teeth vibrating to their limits, we started off our expedition at b'lore, the land of technologists and broad-minded people. After a hectic journey through autos and buses, we finally reached the place, yeah, IIM-B ...the best campus and culture i've ever seen. We arrived just a couple of hours before lunch, got our ourselves checked into the simple and elegant hostel rooms, finished our bathing rituals and got ready..for what? Khaana..food! After reaching the canteen, we thought to ourselves, Y R IIM-B STUDENTS BLESSED WITH SUCH HEAVENS?... Yeah, the canteen or the food-court as they call it, served food that was too good to be resisted. After a belly-full grub, we took a "noon-walk" inside the campus that's wrapped with trees and lovely grey-stone buildings. Forget the architectural beauty. Let me talk about the culture thats haunting the campus there.
We saw all these into play at nowhere else but IIM-B... Stunning, isnt it...the interaction, the culture, the attitude, the style of the people. If there's Harvard in India, it cant be anywhere else but IIM-B. Now coming back to the story, we went back to our rooms at around 4 to take rest for a while before the ultimate fusion show of JAL and Shivamani at 6:30. When our watched struck 5pm, we started getting ready tryna look the best we can to hit the show. We decided to occupy the first row in the show, just below the stage, no matter what! we rushed to the gates of the show and to our surprise, we were the first ones waiting in the queue before thousands of people started backing up on the queues... We were so damn happy that we were the first ones to enter the gate of the ground where the show was being held. Once the gates opened, the public rashed in, breaking the barricades adn we ran to occupy the first row. And Yeah, a dream and goal well achieved, we finally got the first row along with a bunch of cute-looking girls... Some of us started panicking watching the crowd filling up in thousands behind us. JAL finally came on stage at 8 and started performing kick starting with the most popular "WOH LAMHE"... We could only hear the crowd singing and not the band members. Thats the way crazy bangalore music crowd is. One song after the other, our energies kept increasing..screaming out till our lungs burst.. And when Shivamani stepped in the middle of the show, it was like a tsunami after a storm.. mind-blowing crowd and response. i dont have any more words to talk about the show...it finally came to an end at around 10:30 pm and after that we walked to the food-court like nomads in search of food, coz we were terribly hungry and thirsty after screaming out all throught the show. After eating the dinner we headed straight to our rooms to settle down after a tiring evening. After talking, gossiping, playing and fiddling with out phones, we finally retired down to our beds and fell asleep. Thats just one day of the tour and we had solid fun... One more day to go on sunday. I will end this one now, and try writing about the next day sometime later.
